European Conference on Financial Services (ECFS 2018) is an initiative of the Institute of Financial Studies, "Petru Maior" University, the Romanian Research Society for Private and Public Affairs, "Transilvania" University and the University of Economic Studies and is to be held in Brașov between 15th and 16th of March, 2018. The conference is organized with the support of West University of Timisoara, „Wallachia” University of Târgoviște, "Babeș - Bolyai" University of Cluj Napoca, Romanian Association for Law and European Affairs (RALEA), Center for Arbitration and Mediation in Insurance (ACAMA), National Institute of Internal Control (INCIR) an the Romanian Patronage of Insurance - Reinsurance Brokers (PRBAR).
The latest technological advances, the implicit change in market conditions and the interest in protecting the investors, if we are talking about the financial market, as well as the insured persons, if we refer to the insurance market, are the reasons behind the European legislative revolution regarding the financial services domain. The enforcement of Regulation 2016/679 on the protection of personal data starting on 25th of May, 2018 is a milestone in any industry and directly addresses to individuals too. 2018 represents, also, the year of MIFID II / MIFIR and IDD implementation.
The panels included in two-day theoretical and practical debates are meant to identify appropriate solutions to a smooth and yet successful transition to the new European standards.
